F-15's in Austin

When I was at lunch today I saw what looked to be 2 F-15's flying over southwest Austin. They came from the north, parallel to Mopac, and turned West, following Bee Cave road. They were cruising pretty low. Did anyone else see them? Anyone know why they were here?

Could be the airshow, but it doesn't list F-15's as being on there...only F-16 and F-4. If they were with the airshow, maybe they were just trying to stay as far away from Aaron Tippin as possible. WTF??? ...but that's a whole 'nother topic.

I will never forget the USAF formation at the '05 Rose Bowl. They flew a P38, an P51, an F15 and an F16 over going one way, and then a B2 came from the other direction. It strongly reinforced the message that if you are 100 feet AGL or in water more than 15 feet deep and contiguous with the ocean, you are doing so at America's leisure.

I remember that flyover at the Rosebowl...I was hammered drunk and sitting down trying to collect myself... Then I look up and see what looked like a flying saucer. The 1/2 a second it took me to realize it was one of the good guys seemed like an eternity...

There's an airshow at Dyess (Abilene) this weekend that is scheduled to have an F-15 demo team.

I was in the North EndZone that year about 20-30 rows up from the band. I was stone cold sober and that B2 was ******* AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love the F-15, but in the world of stealth it's known as the aluminum cloud for its size. It can still go up against 99% of the rest of the world's aircraft inventory and still come out on top.

HOWEVER, there is this little matter of a new kid on the block known only as Raptor. Darwin was right, there is such a thing as EVOLUTION. Funny how there is a slight resemblance between the two jets as you look at them side by side.

And for you Top Gun fans, YES, there is an inverted picture.
