EZ's

I got bent over by EZ's on Lamar today. I was the second of our 5 man group to order. My order was a poblano chicken sandwich. A full ten minutes after the last person other than myself recieved their order, I was finally called to the counter. After cutting the sandwich in half and taking a bite, I noticed the chicken was not fully cooked. I polled our group on whether or not it was done and recieved confirmation that should I continue to eat that thing, chances were likely that I would spend the rest of the afternoon in an undesirable position.

Upon trying to notify the manager, I learned that he was already dealing with another matter regarding under-cooked food. After finally sharing my tale with the manager, he looked at me and said without apology, "Whada ya want?" I was a little taken aback and said, " I definitely, don't want this." So he gave me a refund and walked off.

My question is....Is this proper restaraunt management? I would have thought that he would offer an incentive to at least try to get me back in to the place at a later date with a free meal later, a comped milkshake, or something. I surely wasn't going to accept a comped spit burger from the chef today.

Any opinions?

yup, I saw said chicken and it had the wrong kind of pinkish hue. Manager did look confused and was not the least bit accomodating.

Moral of the story? Stay away from the chicken, get the bean burger.

if you don't like my cooking, don't eat there *******!

As a counter example, I remember a time when I remember getting a pizza that I thought was slightly overcooked, not a big deal. I'm almost done eating it, when they bring me out another one, and apologize for burning the first one.

I like EZ's. Went there with my nieces. One of them ordered a pizza and forgot to mention she didn't like tomato sauce. When the manager saw she was upset she let her get a hamburger at no charge.

i used to eat at EZs off lamar like once a month or more when i worked closer to there. i always had excellent service, manager always came up asking if things were good.... i wonder if they have had a change in management? i haven't been for several months.

i wish there were more in austin. i dig their salads (trying to eat healthier) and their chili is pretty impressive. that black bean burger is pretty impressive too.

my wife loves EZ's (because she likes dry, overcooked burgers

). I find it passable when I'm not in the mood for anything in particular, and she's really craving a carbon burger. I hadn't heard that the WL location had closed, but I do know that those places were really hurt when the staple tenant for that complex (a grocery...Albertson's, I think) fell through. What are they doing with that thing now anyways?

i've never really had a problem with EZ's the cheese fries are pretty good and they had the $2 discount for having a student ID. The other three restaurants in that area always seem to be doing pretty good business, the only other one i go to is freebirds.

Bean burger, alamo bowl and chopped cobb are edible. The fact that they give you a couple bucks off with a student ID doesn't hurt.

I like EZ's but it was much better at the original location in San Antonio on north new braunfels before the owner sold out
