Extreme measures for an upgrade

This is a sad story about a woman who died on board a flight from Haiti to JFK. I don't understand why they didn't divert to Miami, even after the woman died.

What would be the point of going to Miami after she was declared dead? It would only inconvenience the living passengers going to NYC and the passengers on the subsequent flights the plane would be used for.

I'm not going to comment too much since we've only heard one side of the story. But I'd say the inconvenience of sharing the aisle with a dead person outweighs the inconvenience of stopping in Miami.
