extra tint on new car / Where to get auto tint?

Extra tint on the front windows of a new car is a dealer option.

Is tint on these windows a good idea? I think so because it would lessen the risk of break-ins, wouldn't it? It sounds lke a safety problem though, making it harder to see mirrors, cars, etc..

If i want to get it done outside the dealer, where do I go?

Depends on where you're located. In San Antonio, for example, Mother's Window Tint is a pretty popular place. They did a good job on my wife's car for a fair price.

In other cities, check the back of the Yellow Pages for discount coupons at some of the shops that specialize in window tinting.

Tint is good for reducing load on the air conditioning in the summer. There is legal and illegal tinting, depending on how dark it is. A good place in Austin is Tint Specialist, two locations, and several new car dealers send the cars over there to get tinted, and add a nice profit to the ticket. They do a good job.

Be sue to use a legal tint on drivers/front windows.

Got limo tint and then got turned down at inspection a couple of cars back.
