Exhaust issues on an old truck(F150)

I've got an old truck, '83 F150, that I use occasionally to haul stuff but basically that is it. I had the motor rebuilt about 5 years ago and, long story short, the people who put the motor back in didn't put some or most of the exhaust cleaning parts back on it. So needless to say it won't pass the new exhaust checks set by the state of Texas in certain counties.

Is there a way to buy a smog kit or something that is not too difficult or expensive to add on to the exhaust system to clean it up?(so it will pass the test and become legal again) Or do I just need to continue to keep it on the down low till it becomes an antique in 2 years and is not required to pass the exhaust portion of the inspection?

Anyone have any ideas besides selling it or getting rid of it?

What did they do? Take out the catalytic converter? I'd drive to out to BFE and have Bubba do the inspection.

I don't know if BFE stands for Bum **** East, but in Bum **** South East San Antonio I have a guy who has inspected vehicles by mental telepathy and past life regression analysis for several years.

East or Egypt, same thing. I've got a guy who just starts filling it out when I drive up.

When you own the town you live in, Lat, you get that kind of service. Up here in Dallas county they are getting damn strict. I don't mind trying to conform to the new emissions laws but I'd still rather not pay too much if it is just window dressing. The truck runs just fine now as is.

The catalytic converter is still there, the stuff that is missing is the smog pump type crap.(I think) Is there any aftermarket smog pumps or something I can put on to help it be legal? One dude suggested some kind of additive to put in the gas just before getting it checked.
