This team made many effort plays especially Brooks. The pass to Sanders that was initially ruled a fumble but reversed to an incomplete pass comes to mind. The hustle and I will not be denied effort by Brooks to recover the ball was significant even though it ultimately didn't officially count. There was an earlier fumble that I think a Texas lineman recovered downfield. Showed that they were playing to the whistle and beyond.

After Saturday, these guys have to know that they are good enough to make a serious run this year — an opportunity to capitalize on and not be wasted with loss of focus or poor effort in the weeks to come. Go get it.

Pretty cool video capture!!! Its lucky he didnt have it because we didnt have the 1st until Brooks ran with it!!!
Ehhh. For all the hoopla about that play, the reality is that we got stopped on 4th down exactly 4 plays later. I don't see that play being too impactful on the actual flow of the game. I will concede it was psychologically powerful though.

We know the talent is there
SN makes a good point. The team also needs the right mental attitude
Maybe Brooks play gave them a mental lift that resulted in great effort later.
Sark talks about needing all 3 teams, offense ,defense &special to win games
Maybe there is a 4th ,mental.
Or is that too nerdy?

Sark needs a Jumbo package/goal line package yesterday. Put Helm and Sanders in the backfield. Malik if he is up for it. He could throw out of it as well....

Sanders recovered a brooks fumble.

I was thinking Malik will be in the game next season with special packages. Maybe too early to happen this year.

I like Maalik in on 4th and 1. Run the sneak and then u set up the big pass play.
He is a big guy and with jumbo pkg that would be tough to stop. So far, we seem to have trouble in that situation

I like the play Tebow made famous.
QB fakes run into the line on the goaline then tosses a pass to a TE for a td

My favorite stretch was the first 1st down after we got the ball back at the end. Brooks gets hit short of the sticks on 3rd down and carries his man forward. Then he gets the longer run for the 2nd 1st down and basically seals the game. That and his TD from the 5 were all huge effort plays.

Agreed. That run for a first down that put us in victory formation was a thing of beauty.

It wouldn't bother me to see Brooks start this Saturday. He has earned it IMO. I still love Baxter however. Love all our RBs.

Yeah he, Brooks definitely had a couple of runs to turn me onto a fan. The dropped ball he scooped up and took for the first down showed a lot of savy imo. Gonna take something major to knock me off his bandwagon.
