Everyone but UTSA has beaten us

Every team Texas has faced this year has taken at least a game from us EXCEPT the one-game series, extra-inning nail-biter we won vs UTSA (6-9 record when we faced them). Even previously WINLESS Brown beat us this weekend.
What's the deal? Is it lack of pitching depth? Killer instinct? I haven't seen us in person, but the record is a bit disturbing.

Shakey relief pitching at times, and certainly a lack of consistency in the bats. We often leave runners in scoring position. The pitching should improve is we are still trying to decide who fits in what roles behind the starters. However, even with improvement in hitting, the lack of power and consistency should continue to plague us down the road. Prove me wrong, Horns. Good thing is we are much less setted across the board as who fits where. Which certainly leaves room for strong improvement later in the year when the roles define more clearly.

Thanks Thorn.
I agree that if we're struggling a bit, it's some small consolation to be able to say we're still experimenting with the pieces. Maybe we'll find some chemistry that will spark an improvement.
I do think it odd that we'd won every series, but hadn't swept anyone except the 1-gamer vs UTEP.

I've been thinking the same thing about our high ranking. Especially since #6 Florida St is 15-1, #7 Virginia is 16-1, and #8 LSU is 15-1. I thought maybe it was the competition for the others was very weak. Yet we are 2-1 against the top 25. FSU is 1-0, Virginia is 3-0, and LSU is 3-0. How do we stay above those teams with our 5 losses??? Doesn't add up whatsoever.

In the past, Baseball America has never been this kind to us. Many times they've had us lower than teams the other's had is higher than. Typically the UT name has done us very few favors with that poll. Weird.

Looks like the REAL OU showed up this weekend. Against REAL competition, they lost the series to a good aTm squad.

I'm glad we got our first multi-game series sweep of the year this week. It took two extra-inning wins to do it, and K-State isn't exactly a baseball powerhouse; but perhaps a sweep will help build some momentum.
