Ever lost a wedding band?

Been married almost 3 years and I have never worn jewelry other than a watch before getting married. Still not used to it even though the ring is a "comfort fit" and I'll frequently fidget with my ring. Take it off, put it back on... when I'm working or whatever. I will drop it frequently and have to pick it back up.

I have dropped mine in my car many many times and had to get it out of crevices. Well this weekend I had the worst scare so far. We were out until midnight on Saturday night and when we got home, I was getting changed for bed and I realized that my ring wasn't on. I looked in and out of the car and it wasn't there. Called the restaurant and bar we were at to see if they found one to call us. Woke up early and looked again in the car and no luck. Then I looked on the ground in the garage and there it was. Must have taken it off on the way home and it came out when we got out of the car. Talk about a relief....

Makes me think that maybe I should get a replacement silver ring from James Avery or something and then wear that so if I lose it, it won't be anything sentimental.

Anyone lose theirs?

I have lost mine twice. The first time I replaced it my wife did not even notice. The second time I was just not going to wear it any more, but I got in trouble for that line of thinking.

Ive had a couple of close calls. Ive had it slide off my finger a couple of times. One time I was on a deck and just happened to hear it clink against the wood as it slipped through crack between the wood slats. I didnt even feel if slip off my finger. We poped a board and got it back easy enough, but I probably never would have found the ring if I didnt hear it hit the wood.

been married 5 years. I'm like you with regards to jewelry.

I lost my first one playing water volleyball, swam the pool forever and nver found it.
second one I lost in the kitchen, it was on the counter and someone knocked it off into a box of dishes. eventually found it in the box in the garage months later.
I just have a cheap silver james avery. they said platinum scratches easier so it made it a no brainer for me.

lost mine in the couch. Didn't know it was there for a long time. Found a replacement....at a pawn shop for $45. The replacement fit and looked ALOT better than the crappy original (crappy because I hated wearing jewelry and asked for the plainest, thinist cheapest thing). The replacement is aesthetically beautiful and fits like it was made for me. The original fits loosly because I thought that my fingers would get fat and I would "grow" into it.

So after wearing the replacement for a few months, I found the original. I haven't quit using the replacement, and the wifey doesn't mind either. The original is now my "backup" ring in the event that I lose the replacement.

I've been telling guys for years, as soon as they tell me they are getting married, when you go with the fiance to pick out your ring, go back the next day and buy 1 or 2 replacements. Buy the exact same ring and get the exact same engravings. Take the backups to work and leave them in your desk.

I'm convinced guys should get the cheapest gold ring from a catalog they can. nothing fancy and nothing engraved.

This is from a guy who "hat to get" the gold/platinum combo. A little more mature now, I think of it as a waste of our money to buy this ring.

Her's not so much.

I wish I had got a silver ring from James Avery to start with.

I got mine at Benolds where I got her engagement ring and her wedding band... yellow gold on the outside and white gold in the center. I like it but it cost me like $600-700 if memory serves. I found this ring at James Avery and it is silver for $45. What was I thinking? I think I am buying it this week. Putting my wedding band in our safe. To me, the one I have on now means way too much sentimentally to risk losing it again.

A few years ago I went camping on the Guadalupe River with some buddies. We went tubing one day and one of my friends put his wedding band in an either zippered pocket or something like that in his trunks. He was afraid of losing it. It wasn't just his pocket, he was certain it wasn't coming out. He got drunk, got back to the campsite and it was gone.

To make it really bad, it was his grandfather's wedding ring and an heirloom. Ouch.

almost lost mine this weekend; had lotion on my hand, it flew off and starting going round and round the drain. caught it at the last second..
