European Carbon Markets fall of a cliff

after all we have heard we find another market is crumbling or at least potentially so!

This whole idea was closely tied to the Kyoto treaty, which of course the US Senate voted down 98-0 (a bipartisan rejection) back during the Clinton years. The dirty little secret about his whole mess was that it was never really about global warming or fixing the climate, but about redistribution of wealth and forcing a change in the balance of global competitiveness at the expense of the United States of America.

The Europeans were not ever going to comply with this stuff and the third world countries were not even going to be asked to. It was just us that was supposed to comply. But since we never signed on, the whole thing became a farce right from the start. Looks like the end of this little charade is drawing near.

The upside is that we are not going to sign on to any follow on agreement to Kyoto either. If the votes in the Senate could not be mustered during the first two years of Obama, then it is unlikely they ever will be. What an unbelievable scam all of this has been. And continues to be, as far as that goes.
