Europe Suggestions

Looks like I will be heading over to Europe in a few weeks for a week-long training session for work. I want to take advantage of the free flight and do some traveling the following week. Was looking to get some suggestions on destinations.

I'll be flying into Munich on june 1 as the training is in Kitzbuhel, Austria. We finish up on Friday June 6. I wouldn't fly back until the following Saturday so I basically have a week. I have actually spent a lot of time in Europe. Here are the places I've been: London, Paris, Amsterdam, Munich, Madrid, Sevilla, Salzburg, Venice, Florence, Rome, Prauge, Vienna and Athens. Also have a trip planned in the fall to Munich (Oktoberfest), Cologne/Dusseldorf, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Stockholm.

I really want to check out some places I've never been seen although heading back to Prauge is tempting. Some of my first thoughts were Budapest, Crotia, or Switzerland. Would love to take advantage of the warm weather as well. Keep in mind I have a week and would rather use trains, not any flights. Will be traveling with a few work friends (all early 20's) so we will be looking for other young people, good night life, etc.

If anyone has any suggestions I would be greatly appreciative. Thanks in advance!

I'm a huge fan of Budapest, and it's an easy train ride from Austria. I just did my 3rd trip there in March, and I love it every time. Buda Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, Fisherman's Bastion, etc. are some of the key sites to see.

If you're in Austria or Switzerland in June, you might want to catch some of Euro 2008 if you are a soccer fan.

I've only been to Lucerne in Switzerland, but thought it was amazing. We spent a day on Mt. Pilatus and on the lake. Gorgeous scenery, but Switzerland is expensive.

Do you want to be in the city or country? It sounds as if you have been in a number of cities, so it may be time to head for southwest France, rural Spain, Tuscany, or the Alps.

I 2nd Budapest, its great. Plus if you make your way to Vienna from Kitzbuehl, you can take a boat down the Danube from Vienna into Budapest, which I thought sounded pretty cool. I think that Budapest > Prague...

Thinking now I'd really like to see some beaches. My top choices right now are Ibiza, Ios and Mykonos, or somewhere in Croatia (maybe Dubrovnik or Split). Anyone care to comment on these places?
