Ethical TV?

I have a horrible guilty pleasure.....

Breaking Bad on AMC. I completely hid this from everyone in my life. I have been with Mac for almost 20 years....but I scrambled up to bed before this show came on so I could watch it alone in my room with the door closed.

Mostly, because given my current health, if I thought I could do this......I am Walt.(I could never do this.....don't call the cops)

So, I finally email Mac and say.....hey, have you caught this show? I feel like I am confessing some freakish addiction that will scar my family for life......

He doesn't respond. I feel like a failed reject without possibility of redemption.....

Out of the blue, Mac walks in tonight and says, "Hey....all the Breaking Bads are on demand....I'm watching last nights, its the only one I've missed."

Do I feel vindicated? Do I think I am not so bad......Hell no....I'm pissed I had to stay up unnecessarily late to catch the second runs all by myself.

You jerk.

That's a very good show, but it's very depressing. Have you seen any of the Mad Men series on AMC? That's my favorite show right now.

I think it is a show about empowerment. This guy has a life changing situation and seems to realize he may have wasted his time, so now he is no holds barred.

Lots of revenge against the basic things in life that piss us off, plus he is doing it on his terms, nothing to lose.

Great show.

Never understood why somebody would feel guilty about watching a TV show. Unless it's something legitimately illegal that's on some pirated TV stations, there's no need to feel guilty about watching Breaking Bad, or anything else.

TV is meant to entertain. If Breaking Bad is entertaining to you (regardless of subject matter), then enjoy.
