ESPN's take on how badly we're kickiing Aggie butt

You can probably say the same thing about those A&M players who beat our *** last year.

Sherman kicked our butt (and Baylor and OU and Nebraska) by having the smarts and balls to switch quarterbacks last year when things weren't working with his star quarterback.

Mack Brown should have done the same thing, at least in the KState GG meltdown when he wasn't even under pressure. If we had had Case McCoy in there all last year I think we would have beaten Baylor and A&M and Iowa State and taken OU down to the wire. Case would have enough experience to be poised to take us far this year and we probably wouldn't have lost our critically important 5 star offensive tackle. Mack's loyalty to Gilbert and Davis translated to de facto disloyalty to the team.

There wasn't many good memories from last season, but yes we kicked the cornholers butts last year.

I'll enjoy our recruiting success more when it directly translates to wins and championships, and I wouldn't make fun of an aggy program that beat us last year with their 'inferior' recruits.

I don't believe Sherman switches QBs last yr if the backup was a true frosh with little reason to believe he'd be successful either. aNm had talent, experience and leadership on the bench at the QB position. Many believed the kid should've started 2 yrs earlier

sherm made the change because tannehill and jj had been neck and neck in spring drills for two years straight. if the alternative was matt joeckel or showers (both RS freshmen) i highly doubt that he makes any sort of change.

as to the article, nothing has changed. mack is the premier recruiter in the country without a doubt. it was disappointing to lose malcom brown, but not really all that surprising. i'm hopeful, but not optimistic, that he'll give us a second look at some point.

Count me as one who doesn't care unless these guys can actually beat A&M on the field. I root for wins and National Championships, not being #1 on recruiting rankings which clearly don't mean anything.

I guess the whole thread title being about poking aggie with a stick when we sucked as bad as we did just set me off a little was all.

damn I have been agreeing with BI often as of late

Nobody said we didn't beat Nebraska. The point was Sherman manned up and made the tough executive decision that had to be made, Mack didn't and A&M turned around and wound up beating a lot of good teams including us even though they had lesser recruiting stock (whereas we floundered the whole season).

I don't get a Longhorn wanting to be a downer about good recruiting news. Yep, we had a miserable season, but bringing in good players is the way to avoid those. It's worked every year but one.

Being such a Debbie Downer on good recruiting news is akin to those Aggies who act like winning nine games and getting slaughtered in a bowl game means the Ags are back, baby.

This recruiting news indicates that as far as players are concerned, they'd rather go to Texas than A&M. No bad news there.

damn I agree with RV. what is the world coming to

Texas had a bad season and thankfully big changes have been made. it will be a work in progress, but we are moving in the right direction for the future of the program.
