ESPN's 2010 Team Recruiting Rankings

I am amazed every year how well the Aggie classes are rated. It reminds me of beached whales. I have never understood why such powerful creatures would throw themselves on a beach to die either.

yeah, well they have had some damn good classes. a lot of guys put in the nfl. they just haven't been able to do anything with it.

Here is ESPN's ranking of the 19 Texas commits as well. 10 of the 19 are on their top 150 list. I guess that is a grade of 80 of higher. There are 5 others with a 79 grade. 10 of those top 15 guys are defensive recruits. Very good defensive class we got going and that includes the loss of the highly ranked safety to Baylor.

Each player has a free evaluation and video as well. Pretty cool.

Funny...we should recruit some TEs. Of course, if I were a TE, I would be terrified to come here. First I'd have to play the game the correct way, and then I have to also deal with the curse? Screw that, I'd go to OU where I could have a "car salesman" job and go 11-2...I mean thats good enough right?

06 was a great class at the time but has had a bit of attrition. I would say it may have dropped a spot or 2 especially with the loss of the bell cow Snead. 5 four stars lost in that class. A bunch of 3 stars in that class as well.

07 was the class that really benefited from the 05 title. That class was stacked. IT was actually a bit underrated b/c it didn't have a bell cow QB in it. Overall I think that class is a top 3 class.

08 has some misses to OU on some of the top talent in state. It is a solid class and some of the guys in there are just getting ready to have breakout seasons this year or next. Depending on how 5-8 of those guys do over the next 2-3 years we will know if it was in fact a top 15 class or a top 10 class. It is nowhere near a top 5 class though. Quite a bit of talent in the 06 and 07 classes to overcome for these guys to have made an immediate impact. They will get their chance though. Gideon by the way plays like a solid 4 star not a 2 star, and A. Williams plays like a 5 star. Another reason why I say it might actually end up being worthy of a top 10 rating.

09 class may be one of the best classes Mack has had. These guys are just hitting campus so we can't really evaluate it just yet. All 3 five stars are playing every bit the role. 2 other four star monsters on the OL (Porter and Ashcraft). 2 monster 4 stars at DT (Johnson and Howell). Has the bell cow Gilbert at QB. This class has it all. Whaley, Davis, and Timmons will all be 2 year starts once they get their chance. Great class.....a definite top 3 class IMO.

2010 class looks to be close to a top 5 class. It has much better overall talent than the 08 class and I would rank it similar to the 06 class. Hopefully it won't have the attrition that class had. Seems to be missing that one top rated impact player though.
