Interesting that 7 of the 12 voters have us in the top 4 (#1 seed), but we are 5th overall because of Vitale.

Has anyone heard him explain his position on this?

They poll 16 "experts."

Yet there are only 11 first place votes indicated in the individual team listings; not only that, Hubert Davis and Doug Gottleib both rank Texas No. 1.

It all means little, but something is vewwy, vewwy, sqweewy with dis.

it appears as if he hasnt changed his poll. memphis is still 1st.

I'm guessing only 11 voters submitted their polls this week, so the poll only accounts for whoever votes that particular week. If that's the case, Dickie V's vote probably doesn't affect us this week.

I'd write Dickie V, but he probably can't hear us over the sound of how awesome he is. He had UT 12th last week. Oh well - what he says doesn't matter. He'll have KU as a Final Four team when he sees them play KSU this Saturday, I'm sure.

No response (no surprise), but basically no change either. I don't get it...

Something is fishy....they seem to have not counted Doug Gottlieb's vote....which is why we are shown with only one first place vote and not two. I only checked us and UNC and his associated points are missing from both.

If that is consistent across the board, we would still be fifth but only because of Vitale.

I think Gottlieb was late with his ballot -- his wasn't up when I saw this a couple of hours ago. Hence our lack of 2 #1 votes.

I would say that they drop the lowest and highest vote before averaging...but that would move us up a spot.

It also shows that we have more total points than UCLA, who is 4th. I think Vitale might be their IT guy, too.

They're not done totaling... at least, it's not correct.

It does appear that Gottlieb put in his vote late.

I think the Texas total is right, now. UCLA's, I think, should be 164. If I really cared, I'd look at it harder.

I like Dickie V., and he usually has great things to say about Texas and Barnes, but he's woefully wrong about his placement here.

The stupid part is that the Power 16 is supposed to be the 16 teams who are playing the best currently. It's not even supposed to be the 16 best teams, necessarily. And you can't tell me that there's even one team in the country playing better than Texas right now, much less 10. Just confirms what we already know about Dick.

I like Vitale’s loud mouth to an extent. Sometimes his heart overtakes his mind. I think year in and year out he is in love with the ACC. We are definitely a top 4 seed right now, but that doesn’t even matter. Let’s win out and then try to get in the Houston bracket. I would MUCH rather be a 2 seed in Houston than a 1 anywhere else.
Screw everyone else, we have 3 regular season games left. Let’s us handle our business.
