I only posted this here, since it is basketball season. So, if you have not signed up for this service, I have to say I think it is worth every penny. Considering I like to watch almost all things Longhorns, I have to say this last month has been a steal. Men’s and women’s basketball and getting to follow Jordan Spieth these past two weekends. Priceless! Even got to check out the OU beat down of Tech. On top of that you get to check out full content of the ESPN plus articles. All that for the price of a pay per view movie. By the way the Big XII women’s tournament is supposed to be on ESPN plus. Just wanted to pass this on in case some of you are on the fence. But, of course it doesn’t hurt if you are also retired like me. I am kind of pissed I didn’t sign up sooner.

I've thought about it but have yet to take the plunge. I do wonder when most events will move to a Plus format. I might have to make the move depending on what happens to LHN after moving to the SEC.

When does the original ESPN contract with LHN expire?

August 2031. But we all know it's not going to make it that long.

Pretty much everything 3rd tier sits there on ESPN+, but with the SEC Network (as most carriers have it now), it's MOSTLY not necessary to have ESPN+ to be able to access those "other" sports once we make the conference switch. You'd still need a cable/sat/streaming provider, but more and more are including ESPN+ with their services.

Providers like DirecTV, Spectrum, and Hulu kind of "build in" their 3rd tier stuff to temporary channels when it's live. But even logging in to the ESPN app with your TV credentials would suffice. A&M's game against PVAM last season was on "SEC Network+" which means basically that it was the 3rd-best-or-lower option on at the time. But even with a YouTubeTV package, my dad could just log in to the ESPN app on his TV and watch it through there without needing ESPN+.

I kind of like ESPN+ more for the betting tools and mock drafts, etc.

Yeah, that is why I went just with the monthly plan. But, like today if I wanted to I could sit and watch Spieth’s entire round like yesterday. Also, making sure i didn’t have to miss the men’s or women’s basketball games was easily worth the price. And yes, I do love having access to the mock drafts.

Yeah, I would definitely give it a shot for a month. Especially if you like “everything “ Longhorns. Being able to watch the women’s basketball tournament alone for me would be worth the seven bucks. Plus they have a couple of more games on there before the tournament.
