ESPN Gameplan

Just got my notice that Dish is again about to wack my account for $115 for the 2011 college football gameplan. I don't remember too many good games on gameplan last year and was thinking of not getting it for the tailgate this year. Seemed like every good game was on regular ESPN 1,2,3 NU,etc or Fox. Thoughts?

I'm not renewing this year mainly due to finances but also the only games I really found it useful were for the other ABC regional broadcasts, i.e. when there were 3 games at 2:30 on abc or occasionally when there were two night games. Now it seems I can see all those on espn3.com on my computer set next to TVs. To hell with it.

The ABC regional broadcasts are useful, but yes, the schedule was padded with useless matchups last year and has been for a while. I think that I probably saw two Texas games (if not only one) by virtue of gameplan last year.

I'm on the fence about renewing it - but it seems like in the last few years even the regional broadcasts aren't a big deal because if it's a "can't miss" game, it's probably going to be on ESPN and get national coverage, or it will be an ABC night game.

Thanks for the schedule info from last year. That is what I remembered from the last couple of years and my major complaint. There really aren't any "must see" games on Gameplan. I think the tailgate will have to do without Geogia v Vanderbilt this year.
