It was a good article. I like the fact that it was all quotes (maybe - writers tend to make things up and then put " on them anyway), to cut through the usual writer slanting's and shadings.
You can see why the SWC ended, and it was always going to be like that when football really expanded to a national game. But it's neat reading about the old days of the SWC, and how it differs from the current situation. It was more of a family - with both the closeness of how Sonny Dikes talks about RC coming over to their house the night before a game, and the bitterness from Houston's coach, as family fights develop the most bad feelings.
