EPL's FINAL DAY of 2007-8

My attention will be on Fulham. I'd appreciate any links y'all might round up giving me the ability to watch the Fulham game on-line. I watched last week's game on a SopCast feed.

BTW - Fulham is not 100.0% safe even with a win tomorrow. If Reading also wins, by 7+ more goals than FFC wins by, then Reading would pass ahead of Fulham on goal differential. (With 6+ it would go to the next tiebreaker and I don't know what that is.) That is a huge margin of course, but Reading is playing Derby...

In such an event, Fulhams last chance would then be passing Bolton, which would happen if Bolton loses, and Fulham makes up 5+ goals on the Wanderers.

So I guess if Reading starts running up the score, it might be time to start rooting for Chelsea.

How is this for a very unlikely way to save lots of USA players tomorrow...

Reading wins as does Fulham, by any margin.
Birmingham loses.
Then ManU wins 1-0 to seemingly claim the title...
Until Chelsea win 20-0 to simultaneously really claim the title, and save both Fulham and Reading. (Sending Derby, Birmingham and Bolton down.)

More likely...

Bolton 0 - Chelsea 4
Fulham 1 - Portsmouth 0
Reading 7 - Derby 0
Birmingham doesn''t win

That leaves Bolton, Fulham and Reading tied on points and GD.
Is the next tiebreaker total goals scored? Fulham and Reading are ahead of Bolton now, by 2, so they would win that...

And then both Fulham and Reading stay up.

Not looking good for Fulham. Tied at half and both teams they are fighting against have leads. Looks like a must-win to stay up.

Fulham complete the great escape.

17 Fulham 38 8 12 18 38 60 -22 36
18 Reading 38 10 6 22 41 66 -25 36
19 Birmingham City 38 8 11 19 46 62 -16 35
20 Derby County 38 1 8 29 20 89 -69 11

I take back everything I said about Danny Murphy.

I'm happy for the Yanks at Fulham. It will be interesting to see how many stay there.

Dempsey is a lock to return.

McBride - I have a gut feeling that he may play in the Olympics and then return to Fulham. He's still very productive, and recovered from his injury in a marvelous way. He's 35, but can still put the ball in the net.

Johnson - It's hard to tell if he'll be a player. I don't see it. I think he might not be retained.

Bocanegra - I have a feeling that he'll ask for a move. He didn't see the pitch much after the manager change.

Keller - He may stay. I think he'd be a great #2 and potentially a serviceable #1 for another year. He'd rather be there than look for a gig elsewhere.
