Energy Drink Suggestions?

I like to drink an energy drink before I workout. I've been drinking sugar free red bull, but is there anything better for the energy/kick/jolt factor? taste? im looking for something with little calories, so it would probably need to be a sugar free drink. thanks in advance.

Before a suggestion, I suggest adjusting your diet to where you can carbo load and protein load before hand. That is your opimtal situation.

Other than that, I suggest 5 hour energy. But any energy drink is likely to dehydrate you. So be prepared to drink more water than you did to get to where you need to be. Compare ingredients, carbs, sugars, caffeine and garbage in energy drinks v. 5 hour and I think you will find a winner, hands down.

The taste is not the best in the world but you said you wanted energy, not taste or bubbles. The let down of this product is great too. Very easy and gradual, no crash.

If you increase your stretching or stretch properly as well as warm up with some cardio you may find you don't need an energy drink at all and it may just be habit or mental.

Adjusting your diet could be a key to not feeling lethargic as well. If you have insurance I suggest seeing a nutrtionist/dietician to tweak your diet some.

Hope this helps.

I'm not sure you are going to find "energy" without calories. The caffeine added to some drinks gives you the "jolt" you described. Sounds like you are asking for some other type of stimulant?

not sure what you are asking, but anything that is more powerful is not going to taste better

the strongest "drink" i know of is Redline. you can get it at any smoothie factory/king or any gym. it is strong. it doesn't taste that good, but it is sugar free. it isn't made to sip on. you drink it right then. if the "jolt" is what you are looking for, that is the drink for you.

there are a bunch of competitors that you will see next to it like "pump" and "black pearl". i don't know much about those, but they are supposed to be similar. just stick with redline and you will be jacked.

all the ones you buy at the convenience store are the same.

I like Zero Carb Rockstar, the one in the blue can.

I like the taste and I guess the energy kick is alright. It's more of a habit thing for me.

i just want to find a good energy drink that has very little calories. i sometimes have a hard time getting motivated for cardio stuff. i don't know if it's a mental thing or a physical thing, but red bull seems to help. just wondering if there are any other energy drinks that are recommended over red bull. Thanks.

red bull, monster, pimp juice, rock star all have roughly the same amount of caffeine, taurine, and carnitine. they all have zero calorie versions.

the next step is redline. see, this is where your post is confusing. do you want it for energy? if so, get redline.

if want it for taste and a little bit of energy try diet monster or rock star.

Sorry if my post was confusing.

These are the things I'm looking for in an energy drink (in order):

1. Low Calorie
2. Something that gives you a kick before a workout
3. Decent tasting

The Link.

More Flavors.

In all seriousness, I like diet Monster, though the cans are fairly large (probably not something you would want to drink before working out). I have been meaning to try 5-hour...

i'd drink monster/red bull every morning for the past few years, skip a few mornings here and there...

i have now gone almost two full weeks without drinking one. i feel so much better.

grab a all-fruit smoothie instead.

all-fruit smoothie aint gonna make you any fatter... losing weight has more to do with eating right than working out.

Coffee is by far the cheapest source of caffeine, if you make it yourself. You can make it taste good with enough sugar or cream.

Funny, there was an add for a espresso maker on the left ad bar.

I read an article a few years back that actually said coffee is good to drink before a workout and actually good for you in general, in moderation. I just drink a cup every morning and Im not sure what id do without caffeine in the morning; im getting old.

i wasn't saying staying fit is just about eating right... but you're not gonna lose weight eating crap and working out. there is just as much to what you eat as there is to how much you work out.

eat properly and work out regularly. you can always add in some unhealthy food and miss a day or two at the gym. but a good combination of healthy food and exercise is all you need.

at least that is what i've always been under the impression of.
