I've been to games at Olsen Field for a couple of decades, and it was by far the quietest crowd I've ever heard there.
And there WERE empty seats around us -- even at the start of the game. The crowds starting clearing out in the 7th inning and there was perhaps only 1/3 of the original crowd in the stands at the end of the game.
Getting out of the poorly-designed Aggie parking lots was the easiest I've ever experienced -- because so many people had already left.
I guess that's what a 1-hit, marvelous performance by Cole (and a 14-run performance by the offense) will do to an Aggie crowd.
I loved seeing Kevin hit those two shots. His final one totally took the air out of the Aggies.
Augie said in his post-game interview with Little that after games like this, teams tend to think they can't do it again the next day. He said he believes in abundance (i.e., plenty of runs in the universe) and suggested that Texas could do it again tomorrow.
May that come true. I do like those quiet Aggie crowds and those mournfully sad faces throughout the game. . .
There was far too little burnt orange in the stands -- as little as I've probably ever seen.
So, get in your vehicle on Sunday morning and get out there to see another sweep by Texas. Wilson will be there -- and so will I.
8 - 0 shutout by the Horns in game 3 - and all the seats behind home plate (as shown by the centerfield camera) were empty by the 7th. Maybe they all went home to get their brooms?
There were no empty seats, they just ran out of fans.
I was going say they ran out of asses, but that would have been incorrect-not likely to ever happen.
You two need to get your butts back to Texas so you won't have to make those insanely long drives to help us irritate the Aggies . . . and the Sooners.
I hear you're the only football AND baseball season ticket holders in the State of Nebraska. My hat's off to you both.
