Empty big boxes in Austin?

I'm doing a little survey trying to round up the locations of empty big box stores in Austin. I've got the recently vacated Home Depot on 183 but rumor is Target may be moving in. Is the Albertson's at the Y in Oak Hill still empty? Any others?

Former Albertsons at Manchaca and Slaughter
Former Alberstons at Wm Cannon and Westgate
Former Hobby Lobby at Wm Cannon and Manchaca (sort of a smaller big box -- and it looks like it might be remodeled before going on the lease market. The parking lot is full of gravel right now)

There's also an empty Albertsons on 183 near Ohlen.

And the old Hobby Lobby (it moved one store over) in the shopping center at 183 and Lamar where the bingo joint is.

And I think the old Home Depot on 183 and Braker is empty since it moved like a mile away.

pleasant valley albertsons

riverside was somewhat liveable until they closed shop. just one more week here til im gone.

Also add the old Wal-Mart on S IH35 right at the Ben White exit, north of Stassney. Next to Sam's, which is still there.

10 - 4 On Albertson's @ the Y.

Yes, the Home Depot on 183 closed due to the newer one off MoPac (haven't been there before; IMO that's a suck location for access but I haven't done a job in the area that has had me hunting for them. I guess they were hoping to pull some of the biz from Lowe's off Steck & Shoal Creek?

I can't really think of any other empty 'medium to big box' store spots; seems like Albertson's has cornered the Austin market on abandoning ship.

I'm doing a mental drive N on 35, then MoPac, 183, then Lamar, Braker, Cap Tex Hwy, Burleson / Dessau, Lamar, Braker...

Over to the E - W runs, of which there are more: Slaughter, William Cannon, Riverside (isn't / wasn't there an Albertson's there as well?) Wait, wait... Stassney & 35 had an Albertson's but this has been reopened as a Fiesta.

290 / Koenig / Northland / 2222, Parmer...

The empty Albertson's on Parmer was supposed to be overtaken by the relaunched World Gym, but it looks like only a tiny part of it is open. It may not be long before that one is also empty again.

The Arboretum Home Depot moved becasue it was the 2nd oldest store in Austin and was too small for the amount of business it was doing, and becasue many of its displays/sets were very dated. The old location is going to be a Super Target. Look for a new Home Depot to open in Dripping Springs the 1st half of next year, and for one to open in Leander next year too.

Big Fat, I am dreading a Depot in Dripping Springs. The word is that once the water infrastructure is amended, H.E.B. is coming out as well.

The only thing I can't get in Drippin' is plywood - everything else is perfectly fine out here & I don't want more. Home Depot (to me) is even more of a magnet than wider roads.

<sigh>

On top of that, I also have heard that Wally World is on the way but they're waiting on Depot & H.E.B. Even MORE sign of the apocalypse...

If HD does come out, I 'may' go there for plywood but will stick to the other stores (DS Hardware, True Value) for my other needs. I will buy my other stuff (power tools, etc) @ HD's in Sunset Valley, etc.

That's a total shame if its true. I loved living out in Drip' a few years ago when my parents had a house there and I was in between years of school. It was super relaxed out there, and not to mention the awesomeness of living so close to a big city, yet out in the country.

Pretty soon, Dripping Springs will be just another suburb of Austin.
