Wow very surprised if this is true. I know Philly is young and on the rise in the east but this surprises me. I figured he would def stay in LA with his buddy Baron or if he wanted the cash go to Golden State. I guess he saw something in City of Brotherly ****!

The strange thing about this is that he said that he was opting out to give the team the flexibility to sign Davis. Then, he pulls this stunt on them. I would be really pissed off if I were a Clippers fan. Then again, if I were a Clippers fan, I would probably expect this kind of **** to happen. And Baron Davis has to be furious too. He gave up $17M this year to come to LA and play with Brand, and now this? This move by Brand is almost like Carlos Boozer Part 2. What is it with these Duke guys?

The 76ers have a nice little lineup working should they be able to re-sign Iguodala: Andre Miller, Andre Iguodala, Willie Green, Thaddeus Young, Samuel Dalembert, and Brand.

In other related news, the Warriors with their new found cap space signed Corey Maggette to a deal in excess of the mid-level. Sucks for the Spurs who were praying that he would fall into their lap for the mid-level. I think the Warriors need another wing like they need a hole in their head, but I suppose they had to do something after Baron bolted.

That Maggette deal is reported to be $50M for 5 years -- almost twice the mid-level exception that the rest of the league could offer. The Warriors wouldn't pay Baron Davis $65M/5 years, but they give Maggette this ridiculous contract? What a horrible panic move.
