Got take-out fajitas there yesterday. Had some chips & salsa and a frozen salt while I waited.

Margs were really good. Tasted like they use fresh lime juice
Chips & salsa are solid. Fresh.
Beef fajitas were good, not great. The not great part was more the texture, they tasted good.
Chicken was really good.
I like places that add lots of onions and peppers to their fajitas.
Corn tortillas were excellent. Homemade.

Good atmosphere inside, clean, new, etc. Will definitely go back. We may have found our neighborhood replacement for Curra's.

we've eaten there a couple times and agree that everything is "fresh" there. That goes a long way for me.

Isn't it Salvadorian food? I definitely noticed some things you can't find on a tex mex menu. I need to be more adventurous next time we go.

there are more pork dishes. it's not tex mex. probably like you said, more south american with a hat-tip to tex mex, given they live in a tex-mex city.

I eat there several times a month. It's a combination menu -- Salvadoran and Mexican (TexMex).

Try their migas. They're not really traditional migas (if there is such a thing), maybe a bit more like huevos ranchero, but they're incredible.

i live about 5 minutes away from there so we eat there pretty often

for straight up tex mex, its enchiladas y mas up the road, but elsi's has a lot of good salvadoran items that we go there for

for some reason, i've always thought the curra's on burnet was such an inferior version of the one on oltorf, that its not ever a real consideration

elsi's is a great neighborhood place i would reccomend to anyone. my only complaint is that we always feel rushed there at dinner. like constantly getting the check dropped at our table without any questions or comments about the meal, or if we want anything else, usually a couple minutes after the entree is served

i mean, the severs have to understand that if we have another marg and dessert, they are going to get a larger tip?

My partner and I tried this place a couple of months ago, and neither of us cared much for the food or drinks. Maybe we just didn't order the right things, but in any event, it's going to be a while before we give it another go.
