Electrical Adapter Query.

I have a GPS Unit and it did not come with an AC adapter, only the car charger for the cig lighter. That makes sense, I guess, since that is where it is used the majority of the time if not all the time by most people.

I will use it when travelling at times and will want to use the AC Adapter to charge it as I won't have my car with me.

My question is whether I have to buy it from the manufacturer (Magellan) or can I use any "110-240 Volt AC Adapter"? Are the male ends going to be the same? I cannot use USB but the male end is similiar.

I looked online and there are some that are cheaper than the 24.99 they want to charge me. Over the lifespan of the product that I plan on having this device and possible terms of the warranty for the unit, should I just pay the 25 bucks and be done with it?
