El Chilito

So I recently relocated to downtown Austin work-wise, and I needed to find a good lunch spot. As I was strolling down Congress Ave. I noticed a line coming out of El Chilito.
This was a good sign.
Their tacos freaking rock.
Today, the puffy taco with the chicken tinga was most excellent. The pico de gallo really bit back. The fish taco was kinda meh, but the cochinita pibil burrito I had last week was incredible.
This guy would shoot the cook.

If they served El Chile's micheladas it would be my favorite restaurant. Their chips are awesome. I assume they fry them onsite. The dark salsa is the same as at El Chile

There's another one on DK East of I-35. Their only weaknesses are their salsas, which are simply not that great.

I too love their salsas. I don't find that to be a weakness by any means.

They are closed today for remodeling. Reopening on Thursday as something else.
They better still have pibil.

I'm a huge fan of the Tinga de Pollo and the Cochinita Pibil too!!

I love their rice... It's quite tasty!

And if you haven't had a frozen Sangra, GET ONE!!!
