Texas Monthly gave it a really good review. i had passed it many times on my way to muellers so i decided to stop in the other day. i was impressed. i had no idea that this place was going to be any good.
That whole little corridor is awesome. Mi Madre's, Eastside Cafe, Vivo, Hoover's, Mueller's, El Chile...not a lineup to sniff at. There is another taco place coming in the Kestrel Pringing parking lot (Manor and Chestnut).
Vivo is greatness; El Chile has been hit or miss, but mostly very good. By the way, I wouldn't read TX Monthly for food reviews, particularly Tex-Mex. Their Tex-Mex issue was a complete joke. Anybody that likes Gueros that much can't know what they're talking about.
Texas Monthly did review a restaurant in town that's well worth going to, but I'm not going to say which one it was since it's already gotten more crowded.
el chile does indeed rock. been there for lunch a few times. i have been to vivio (sp?) for HH only. they have a mean michelada. in fact, they use celery salt and i have copied that now.
MMMMmmm Micheladas sound good right now. Check this stuff out if you like themThe Link . The Especial is the way to go, with a little clamato, tabasco, and celery salt. Delish.
the enfrijoladas? yeah, they're really good. the shrimp dishes are great too. the only thing about the place is that the sauce don't have no heat. it's really tasty, but a little more heat would make it amazing. we go there often.
