El Arroyo--Far West

FYI, on Tuesday's the El Arroyo on Woodhollow right off Far West has happy hour prices all night long. I just found this out last night when one of my buddies that bartends there, Shane, was talking about how he couldn't believe they didn't get more bar business on Tuesdays with the specials they have until close. My buddy Tommy is the new G.M. there as well, so I'm trying to help them drum up a little business! Let's get some Hornfans in there for some cheap beers and ritas!

How's the crowd at Far West? For that matter, how's the crowd at Arroyo on 5th? I've very limited El Arroyo experience, the last time I went was back in college (I'm 28 now) and I ordered a top-shelf margarita that was at least 89% straight Petron.

back in college, I actually saw a rat inside the El Arroyo on 5th, but I stayed and ate anyways. I'm a very non-picky eater, I just go for the atmosphere.

I agree with you as far as El Arroyo not setting the culinary world on fire, but once you have rugrats, sometimes the standards need to be lowered, in that I'm not going to impose my 21-month old twins on diners at Fonda San Miguel. El Arroyo is always great with my kids, don't mind a little mess, and that gets bonus points now a days from me.

Tiger, I graduated in '93. And as far as the "culinary experience" goes, what does that have to do with cheap beers and ritas?

The crowd at FW varies greatly--sometimes the place is full of hotties and sometimes it's not full at all, and that's one of the reasons I wanted to put the word out about the Tuesday HH. Thursday's .99 ritas are usually a good draw!

It's all about the kiddos right now. The din in the place is such that my kids don't make a scene. We're in and out by 7:00.

They have the cleanest, most nice smellign restroom I've ever been in. It's great.

I know a bunch of people that work there. They seem to be under strict reigns there. I hardly ever get a discount and I'm a great tipper.

I enjoyed it a little too much! One of our offices had a company happy hour there, so beers were gratis, and I had quite a few!!! The crowd wasn't that big, which the bartenders had told me was the case, and that's why I was trying to help out and steer some business their way.
