I'm off to Egypt this week for 3 full days in Cairo and 6 in Sharm el Sheikh. Here's what we have planned so far:Cairo
Day 1- Egyptian Museum and walking around the Nile area
Day 2- 1/2 day guided tour of Giza, pyramids, solar boat, etc.; not sure how we'll spend the 2nd half of the day yet
Day 3 - Khan al Khalili and Citadel 1/2 day guided tour; will also probably do some walks in Islamic Cairo to see some of the other mosques, etc.
Sharm
Day 4 - 8am flight to Sharm, arriving at 9am; will probably just lay at the pool and beach
Day 5- Pool/Beach
Day 6- Trip to St. Catherine's monestary/Mt Sinai
Day 7- Pool/Beach
Day 8- Camel Ride/hike with Bedouins
Day 9 - Pool/Beach until 1am flight back to Cairo and then home)
We still have some flexible time in our Cairo and Sharm trips. Are there any other must see sites or attractions? We're not up for doing side trips to Luxor, Alexandria, Abu Simbel, etc., so any other suggestions in our around Cairo/Sharm would be appreciated.
