Could we have found a replacement for Eddie Johnson? (By the way, I would vote Findley from Salt Lake as a legitimate replacement for Eddie Johnson. And fortunately, Bob Bradley was on hand tonight to see Findley use his speed to score the game winning goal vs. Chivas.)

Yeah, I just saw that game tonight and have to say that Buddle seems to have a pretty good header instinct. He's really come around lately and I have to admit I'm impressed. Get EJ out of there and see what Buddle can do for the Nats.

Saw that game last night. He did look good. He's only 27 as well. I say, give him a shot....

I bought the MLS package to watch that game, but for some reason it wasn't offered, so I watched the Chivas game.

1) Why not give Buddle a shot? There is no way he can be worse than Wolff or Johnson.

2) If Bradley wants speed, then he really should look at giving Findley a shot. That guy is uber-fast and he hustles. He was coming back fighting for the ball even towards the sidelines. About where van Nilstrooy was when he made that amazing save-spin-pass thing to bring Arjen Robben on that goal. Of course Findley didn't make the same move, but he's a hustler with speed who actually isn't afraid to shoot / attack the goal.

Buddle has had 2 good matches in the 2 years I have been watching a good number of MLS. I have been amazed at how awful he normally plays. Having seen the hat, I also noted the nice crosses to him. The Nats need better service as well as a scorer.
All this, and I still wouldn't have a problem trying him in some friendlies.
