Eddie Johnson is not very good

In a game that Cardiff lost 0-4, Eddie didn't get into the game. He was the ONLY striker on the bench and he didn't get in the game. And they were down 0-3 before the team even made their first substitution. Wow he must completely blow.

What the hell happened to him? I remeber seeing him a few years ago thinking he was going to be the next big thing in US soccer and then...
Might as well come back to MLS now.

No idea what happened to Eddie. If I put my finger on something it would say his first touch. It's always been terrible but his speed and size helped him overcome it. Now, I'm not saying this is the reason he never gets in games...But who knows how well he responded to the coaching on an issue like this in the form of bad attitude or loss of confidence.

I do think he should return to the MLS. He had a good situation at Kansas City and I'm sure they'd like him again.

He doesn't move unless he has the ball. He never makes clever runs, rarely does anything to put himself in a dangerous position, and doesn't pressure the defenders when they have the ball. He doesn't really have much dribbling ability, so he has to beat people with speed. It's hard to do that standig idly by while the game is happening around you.

Having the physical tools can give you success at lower levels, but that's not enough in the EPL or International level. I don't know that he has the overall game to be a contributor beyond MLS.
