Ebanks/Witherspoon

I am sure it has been done elsewhere, but can anyone give me the run down on these guys? I know they are both fairly highly rated, but do you see them as immediate impact guys given our current roster? I don't just mean getting some PT but really scoring points and making a difference in tight games.
 
Ebanks would be an immediate impact player. Witherspoon would be recruited to take over some of James' role when he's gone as a wing. He has an all around game, handles the ball really well for a 6'7 guy, not as much as a perimeter scorer as James, and he's not an athlete. Memphis is recruiting him as another Chris Douglas Roberts.

Ebanks is in another league entirely. 6'9 kid who can score inside and out, handles the ball some, can jump out of the gym. A little skinny, but not as skinny as other kids I've seen.
 
It sounds like EBanks is a one and done. With James here, that would seem to hurt our chances. I guess we would tell James that he would start at power and play SF as well. Or can EBanks play guard at 6'9"?
 
I don't get too worried about how he'd fit. Start both Ebanks and James with a low post player and a couple of guards.

However, Gerry Hamilton over at Orangebloods seems to feel like Texas didn't pull into the lead after his visit, which doesn't bode well. Not that the visit went bad or anything, but if you want a player of this caliber, you'd better be way out in front after the official visit, because there won't be another opportunity to make a similar kind of impression.

We'll see. I'm not hopeful at this point, though.

It's looking more and more like a J'Covan Brown only class.
 
No he hasn't. I don't think he will pick us though. He's a good bet for Memphis since it doesn't look like Ebanks will end up there at the moment. At the moment being the key phrase.
 
Looks like your right on with the suggestion that Spoon and Ebanks to Memphis unless something goes down wrong with Ebank's visit.
That is a # 1 Class if they commit.
KU looks like a top 5 class.
UNC top 5.
Sure hope that Brown qualifies.....
 
will memphis really probably get both of them? I thought Ebanks was a lean our way...sucks if so, damn you calipari and worldwide wes.
 
Witherspoon will most likely pick Memphis and Ebanks will choose between WVU and Texas. It looks like he's leaning to WVU.
 
I am not a real KU fan but their success is for real, they have rounded up a group of good kids that knowns how to play team basketball and can already defend man to man.

Take a real look at Self's class, they are most likely 3-4 yr players with Releford SG (top 40) their best scorer, defender.

Thomas is very good blocking and rebounding, ball defense, needs work on his offense. Tough PF

Marcus Morris(SF) can play both wings and can score down low and Markiff (PF)is a 4-5 type of player that can rebound and score when he needs to. Good defenders to boot. Thats 2 quality players for the 3-4-5 slots.

That kid Little is a quality Juco The 6-5 wing (SF)comes from a winning program . Little can get to the rim for a flashy finish but also has the midrange game range of 12-17 feet, a slasher to the rim.
Appleton the other Juco is a Bad *** , great court vision, excellent handle and defense is in your face type. Can score from the arc, drive and pull up and hit the 15 footer. SG/PG

Tyshawn Taylor may turn out better then all the others, played with a great team of D-1 players so was not the fucos but he handled the PG very well , good court vision and tight defense. Scored well when he would shot the ball.

Top ten class for sure and when all is said and done in 2-3 yrs this will be a top 5 team overall.
 
Ebanks visits Memphis this weekend, according to CBS College Sports.

That CBS College Sports Tonight show isn't bad except for the 15 minutes they devote every night to women's lacrosse.
 
Is Witherspoon official yet?

Any one left in Austin this weekend better show Ebanks a good time, of course not too good a time....

Is WItherspoon visiting this weekend? We need to land another player. And BTW, Brown has officially qualified and is accounted for in the spring signing period.
 
With Witherspoon signing w/ Memphis and with DJ and possibly AJ gone, we are really going to be struggling at the guard position. We really could use this Ebanks kid. Barnes and Co. need to really go after him. They need to inform that he may be starting on day one.
