Ebanks or other Basketball Recruits?

Any news yet on the 2008 class? Until when do they have to decide?

Ebanks still claims to be considering all 4 schools: Rutgers, W. Virginia, Memphis, and Texas. There were apparently rumors that he cut two of those schools, which he's denied doing. He's planning on announcing sometime next week, after his graduation on May 18th.

There's a LOI deadline coming up -- don't know exactly when -- but he doesn't have to sign. (No one has to sign... but most do.) He just has to find someone willing to give him a scholarship, and accept that.

There may be another big name available. The LA Times is reporting that DeMar Derozan might be looking to escape USC if the NCAA is going to punish them for Mayo.

But I don't think he had a lot of interest in Texas before, did he?

if this kid gets a release, texas should be all over him. i know he would be a long shot at best, but what the hell. it's worth an effort.

I hear Rodney Guillory (of OJ Mayo fame), tried to approach DeMar. He wanted him on his AAU team. DeMa refused, and told other AAU coaches that he was 15 years old when in fact he was 13. It seems his dad stood up to Guillory.
