Place used to be Mango's, I think. On Guadalupe.

Easy Rhino.

Looks terrible, honestly. But I am going to try it just to give it its just and fair chance.

Anyone been there?

Ahh yes, the newest front to make a go of it at one of Austin's most famous restaurant black holes. Let us know.

Mango's screwed the pooch when they overestimated the number of students willing to shell out 15 bucks for a plate of food.
 
Been there alot. Frat hang out for now. I know several of the employees, two of whom I would consider best friends of mine.

Last nite was 2.50 domestic drafts (25 oz). I think Wednesday is 1.00 draft nite. Y'all should check it out.
 
Last night Stubbs had free nachos/wings, 2 dollar beers, and free live music. Quite honestly it also had the best ratio outside of a lesbian bar.
 
So, any report yet? I was interested in this place but I wasn't going to go until I heard a review from someone. I've yet to hear from anyone that's been there yet.
 
I went there last week with a few friends on like a Monday and it was of course dead. I asked the bartender what the specials were, and he said "a dollar off of pints" which I saw were regularly 2.25. Later one of the girls I was with brings us back a round of beers and she said they were all 2.25 a piece. We later find out that the dollar off was only in reference to Lone Star.

Some of the specials for 2.25 (25 oz) beers don't look too bad though.

They do need to learn how to position a pool table, so as to allow for the use of a pool cue.

The place is new though, so I will give it another chance down the road. But seriously, the name Easy Rhino is pretty bad. I just get the feeling people spent alot of time thinking really hard for a cool/hip name, but to no avail.
 
went there tonight for the first time since the change. not too bad. cheap beer tonight, which is always good. agree on the pool table though. you end up either smacking your cue stick into the railing or someone's back at golden tee. they did put in several dart boards today though. hopefully the place doesnt go under, looks like it might be a pretty cool place to hang out.
 
so did you go yet or what are their hot chicks running around in that place is it smokey is the food good do they have televisions for a sportsbar atmphoshpere or what
 
Not really smokey. There's a patio and an upstairs with several couches right next to the tv. 1 dollar domestic beer on Wednesday 2.50 25 oz domestics thursday. Also serve food. There are several tvs.
 
I still have not been. I have been in Houston, and Arizona, and now in Houston again. But I will try it soon enough.
 
A TON better than Mango's. This place might make it. They have Golden Tee, online trivia, pool, darts, live music a bunch, decent drinks, bad food...

if they hired hotter girls I might see them doing better, though.
 
haven't seen the movie so I don't know the meaning of "Easy Rhino" but what's up with Chuggin' Monkey on 6th street (where Lucy's used to be)? That's an odd name too for a cool bar.

I'll have to check out Easy Rhino, the new places downtown seem good too, Apple Bar, Cuba Libre, and especially Ludwig's.
 
This place is going to get smoked by TABC too if they don't start carding people. But on the plus side there have always been hot freshman and sophmore chicks around when I have been there.
 
Mango's ... Martin Brothers ... but how can anyone forget Bailey's Chicken Fingers?

That was without a doubt the dumbest idea in the history of Austin business.
