Hoovers is one of my favorite places in Austin but it isn't a very good date place.

Vivo's seems pretty popular.

Eastside Cafe, Hoovers, and Vivo's are 3 of my favorite restaurants in Austin.

Also not exactly a date place but Juan in a Million owns too.

Well Clever, I just happened to write up a restaurant list for some new Austinites last year and I included both Eastside and Vivo. They're both great date restaurants. Maybe the descriptions below will help you determine which is the right one for you.

Vivo. Great ritas, great atmosphere. Blah food. Not worth a 1 hour wait (which is common on weekends). El Chile's food is head and shoulders above Vivo.

I think East Side Cafe is over rated. I do like all the Mexican Food places listed above.

IMO, the food at Vivo's is average, even for "healthy".
