Earthlink to Outlook Mail

My wife wants to start receiving her mail using outlook instead of the earthlink mail because Outlook is what she uses at the office. I thought I had all the smtp and pop server settings correct, but the "test account settings" comes back with an error that says to verify the e-mail address (which I've triple checked). Any thoughts?

Whats most bizarre is that it will check and receive mail, but I can't send mail on that account through Outlook. I just can't figure out what setting I haven't set correctly.

Your SMTP server likely requires authentication. You will need to enter your wife's account info on the "Outgoing Server" tab, which you can get to by clicking on the "More Settings..." button from the account settings screen. This assumes that your wife is using Outlook at the location where she has Earthlink service. If she is using this somewhere else, such as her office, she would need to put in SMTP settings that are appropriate for that location. Many SMTP servers only allow access to a specific range of IP addresses. This helps prevent spammers from using their server without permission.

I've tried (or at least I think I've tried) all the different authentification options on that page and I can't seem to get it to work. Yes, this is from the same location. I'm not there now, but I'll try again when I get home. Do I have to change anything in the Earthlink mailbox to do this or are all the settings just done to Outlook? Thanks in advance.

Thanks idig, that link fixed it. I didn't think earthlink would be the spot to find the fix, I was checking on the Microsoft site and couldn't find it. I appreciate the help.
