i've recently made myself a "bucket list" of about 25 things i'd like to see & do.

one of the things on my list is to meet earl campbell.

i was 7 & 8 years old when he won the heisman and started playing for the oilers.

he's not just my favorite player of all time.. he's really the reason i became a fan of the game. i'd love to meet him, even if only to shake hands.

i know many people on this board have met him, so i was hoping for some help on how to meet him. does he regularly make public appearances around town, or what? how should i go about this?

anyone got his cell phone number?

I met him when he had his restraunt on 6th St. He sat down at the table and talked to us like we had known him all our lives. Earl is very cool.

Last football season, at one of the Co-op game day things where he signed autographs and chatted with people for a while.

My boys got to meet him and will never forget it.

Maybe they'll do something like that again this year.

thanks for all the info.

in the meantime, i've checked out his official website, and it appears as though you contact him (or his office) by email, phone, and he's even got a chat room where you can chat with him online.

i might try all that & see if i can find out when & where would be a good place to meet him.

I met him a year or so ago when he had an autograph signing at the Jared jewelers grand opening. (He went to Jared!)

My son and I went and had him sign a football. The kid in front of us had a football card for Earl to sign. As he signed it he pointed out the guy about to tackle him in the picture. I couldn't tell who it was (or if Earl meant this literally) but he said, "That guy right there is a big part of why I walk the way I do now."

He was nice. I hear he's seen out at the Salt Lick quite often.
