So i need to CLEP English 316K. It is my final class and i will graduate once i receive credit. I just found out the last chance to take either the American or English Lit test for some time is on Thursday.

I need to know which test would be easier. Keep in mind i am a literary idiot.

I also would like some resources for test content and the best way to prepare.

thanks in advance.

i took it last year as a jr. with a bunch of fresmen and sophomores. my class was american lit and all we did was study classic authors of short stories and poems.

but i'm willing to bet that every e316k class is different. i think you'll be fine if you know just a bit of stuff. also, don't they give you a guide to study for before you clep ****?

Just pick the one that you have the read the most books out of????? If you have never touched British Lit, then maybe now isn't a good time.

Go to Barnes & Noble tomorrow morning, grab all of their Lit CLEP books, and go sit your *** in a chair and read. They'll have outlines of what you need to know, timelines, sample tests, and **** like that. Pick the book you like best and save it, then go through all the sample questions in the other books to get an idea of what you need to learn. Buy your favorite book, go study, and then do the sample test in your book.

Also look for a "Literature for Dummies" book or something similar. You'll find something that can give you an overview.

I CLEP'ed 6 hours of humanities earlier this year - I used a CLEP prep book, a pretty good basic knowledge of music and literature, and spent about 8 hours reading Art for Dummies. Remember - you're studying for a multiple choice test, and you're not penalized for guessing. The more material you can get exposed to, the more success you'll have at eliminating possible answers.

Dude, Cliff Notes. I didn't even read the books im my English Lit class. I read cliffnotes, and thees is this website call gradesave.com, or classicnotes.com. They give summaries and analysis of all the famous works.

You absolutely must read a novel and be prepared to critically analze many elements from it. Huck Finn is a pretty good bet to be one of the choices on the test. Death of a Salesman is a quick read for which you can probably obtain a video supplement pretty easily.
I CLEPed out of 39 hours during my time at UT -- the E316K exam is the only one I did not pass. The percent of people who get credit for that class by exam is pretty low.
