E-mails dispute James' claims of mistreatment

As a father of two young adults myself, I've learned over the years that when certain situations come up with your kids that you want to always try to have their back, but at the same time, you as a parent need to make an effort to get the whole story before deciding what to do or which "side" to take. You get one side of the story from your child, and sometimes that might not be the most accurate portrayal of the situation.

I wonder if Papa James bothered to find out the whole story before sticking his nose into this kid's business. After reading those emails, I don't see how this could end well for Adam.

If Leach did something that endangered Adam in any way, then by all means... fire his ***. But given Adam's history of being a slacker, I can't see that Leach has really done anything all that wrong.
 
This guy owes Mike Leach EVERYTHING and yet throws him under the bus with things that are turning out to not be true. This kid has some issues and needs help or so it seems.

I was not aware that he did not have any D1 offers and that Mike Leach went ahead and took him after talking to his father. The position coach was even against it but Mike persisted and kept having faith in the lazy kid with a bad attitude on and off the field.

G. Harrell, say what you feel and don't hold back! Oh yeah, you already did. I was unaware he was on the baseball team and screwed that up with his antics.

This is going south for the James family.

I hope Mike is able to stay and coach but some how i believe that his days are over regardless after the bowl game. I just don't see him coming back to this university after all this even if he is found in the right.
I hate tech with a passion but Mike is good for the Big XII and for tech. They would be nothing with out him.
 
Those e-mails paint a pretty toolish picture of the younger James. Seems like an awful lot of people who spent considerable time around him find him to be a spoiled and mean-spirited jackass.

You could say the same thing about Leach or Baby James
 
OK, so the kid is a spoiled jackass. Lots of people are. Do you want them locked in a room by their coach and guarded so they can't touch a wall or sit down?
What would you think of the math teacher who did that to a student?
Leach should have read James the riot act, then said either perform up to standards or your scholarship will be pulled. He should have discussed it with Craig James as well, then carried out his threat.
The wrangling over the facts of the injury are only germane to the legal firing of Leach-maybe Tech can't fire him with cause because he has a lawyer and would not sign a statement drafted by Tech admitting to wrongdoing.
But you have to believe Tech now wants Leach gone, and would rather not pay the $800k bonus due this Thursday if they feel he will soon be fired.
That's what all this looks like-Tech no longer wants the services of Leach, but may have an ugly legal battle on their hands. Could be good spectating for sideline observers.
 
Do we know for a fact he was " locked in a room"?

So far the people involved dispute pretty much every negative part of Adam's story

and after seeing the shed he was supposedly locked in I laughed, not to mention the closet he was locked in.

Every team has an Adam James, real or perceived. I feel Tech's actions were based on more than Adam James.
