e-mail spoofing

So I own my last name as a domain name. So any e-mail sent to *@scooterslastname.com comes to me.

Of course the spammers have my domain name on their lists. Each morning I get dozens of "Underliverable...", "Out of office auto reply.." and "Considered bulk e-mail" messages, usually from europe. Spammers have put my domain name as the "reply to" in their e-mails.

I don't understand why admins don't realize that just because an address is in the "reply-to" field that it is correct.

So far this has not been a huge problem besides removing these e-mails and cleaning up my deleted and junk folders.

But is there anything I can do about it?

The following filters should help redirect most bounces:

* ^From.*postmaster
* ^From.*Mailer-Daemon
* ^Subject.*Mail delivery failed
* ^Subject.*Delivery Status Notification
* ^Subject.*Returned mail
* ^Subject.*Undeliverable mail

What you have is a catch-all email address for a domain. People who use catch-alls have a ***** of a time fighting spam. I used to have one and ended up getting rid of it because of spam.

I would do a google search and see what kinds of steps people have used to successfully reduce spam on a catch-all or stop using that setup.
