Ok Hornfans, help me out.
I currently have a DirecTV HD DVR via HDMI to an entertainment system in our living room. I also have used a DVD recorder to burn my DVR’d programs to DVD. But, because the DVD recorder only accepts S-video/composite inputs, I have to take my DVR off HDMI and run S-video to the recorder. This is a pain because I would rather not have to change up connections every time I want to burn a DVR’d program to DVD.
As many of you may know, the HD-DVR has several outputs (composite, Svideo, component, HDMI). Now, here comes my question:
How can I set up my connections so that the HD DVR receiver outputs via HDMI when I want to watch TV, and outputs via S-video when I want to burn DVR’d programs to DVD?
Does the sat receiver have a way to choose through which it outputs? Or does it do both at the same time?
Am I doing something wrong?
I hope I have explained this clearly.
Opinions?
