Lebron James would have led the league with 593 made free throws, if it hadn't been for Durant making 756. Durant was still 84 short of West's record, but topping the second place guy by over 27% is pretty amazing.

I was trying to think of a Longhorn that has reached such a lofty level in the pros. Houston Street and VY were rookies of the year, but Durant's scoring title is for the entire NBA.

Clemen's Cy Youngs some to mind. Ricky and Earl had some rushing titles. And, I believe Johnny Moore led the NBA in Assists a couple of times.

Still, this is rarified air. Congrats to Durant. Doing the Longhorn Nation proud.

Didn't recall that Earl had won an MVP, but that certainly would trump the scoring title. Still it puts Durant in Elite company:

Earl - MVP and rushing title(s)
Clemens - multiple CYs
Ricky - rushing title(s)
Durant - scoring title

It may have mentioned above, but KD is the YOUNGEST scoring leader EVER in the history of the NBA!

Guess how many more of these he will get. Before he is finished, he will be considered one of the top ten all-time as long as he stays healthy.
