Durant keeps going...

Kevin Durant(notes) had 33 points and 11 rebounds, and Oklahoma City recovered after its big lead slipped away to beat the Atlanta Hawks 106-99 on Tuesday night.

Durant became the first player since Allen Iverson nine seasons ago to score at least 25 points in 22 consecutive games and came up big down the stretch.

It is a shame that he is in the backwaters of Oklahoma City. Anywhere else and he would have a lot more publicity. On the other hand with him being pretty shy, that is probably how he likes it.

He is not on fire...these are typical games for him. So happy and proud of him. I hope he is having fun. Also loved him being on the sidelines at the Okie St game...loved his reactions when Hamilton heated up.

Well his streak is at 23 now. That article said it was longest since Iverson 9 years ago. I looked up Iverson's game log from the 00-01 season and his streak was 23 as well.

If he keeps it going I wonder what the next highest streak is and how long ago that was?

29 points vs Golden State tonight...streak still going...also a 5 game win streak for the team. In the playoffs at this point.

Wow. 25 game streak now of at least 25 points. Longest streak in over 9 years now.

OKC has won 17 of those 25 games. Team was 13-13 and now they are 30-21. 6th in the West now and only 2 games out of 3rd place. He is one of the top 4 scorers in the league right now. Great to see his growth from last year to this year.

26 in a row, and again a win. IMO, the west would have won the all-star game if Durant had played the last 6 minutes.

He should have been starting. But I guess they have to go with votes to decide that. Dirk played way too many minutes there but I think it was b/c it was in Dallas. Obviously not having Kobe or CP3 hurt the West quite a bit.

27 in a row now. 36 points and a big shot to send game into OT against the Knicks in which the Thunder went on to win.

Tied with Iverson now for the 2nd longest streak in last 23 years.

Well he's at 29 in a row now. So yes 11 more to match Jordan at 40.

Upcoming games are:
2/24 SA
2/26 Minn
2/28 Toronto
3/02 Sac
3/03 Den
3/05 Clippers
3/07 SAc
3/10 NO
3/12 Nets
3/14 Jazz
3/17 Char
3/19 Toronto

That would be the next 12 games in which he would need to continue the streak in order to pass Jordan.

Houston, Dallas, LAL, Orlando, Portland were the last 5 teams that held him under 25....that is since November 1st. In his current streak he has done it against Dallas, LAL, and Portland. Houston and Orlando are the only 2 teams left and they aren't on his upcoming schedule.

He only has 1 back to back in that stretch as well. I think his chances are very good.
