Kevin Durant will save the NBA from the self-absorbed culture that is destroying it. In a few years the Thunder will start winning championships and teams that harbor less pure attitudes about basketball will struggle to stay competitive.

This is not to say that teams like the Lakers don't play with a team first attitude (at least in the playoffs when the season starts for them), but I think that Durant's not only refusing to buy into the ridiculous hype that is now standard in the league but actively rejecting it will lead the Thunder to become the best basketball team in the association. Once the real winning formula is exposed, this will return professional basketball to being about basketball (at least for a while).

So last night KD has a subpar game with 16 pts., 6 boards, 2 assists, 2 blocks, and 6 turnovers. Shoots 6-24 from the floor, and the Thunder lose by 15 to the Clippers.

Today he posts this on his Facebook page: "I'm the leader of this team. Everybody follows me....so if I don’t show up, the team won’t show up. That’s why we lost last night. Gonna try to get it going tonight..."
