even better. Both Sonics and Raptors lost, but wow!

KD overcome early struggles (I know he missed his first three or four shots) to hit 13-23 FG's and 4-5 FT's for 30pts in the Sonics loss. Also contributed 5 boards, 1 assist, and a block. He did commit 5 TO's but led the Sonics with 42 minutes played. For maybe the first time this season, KD has bumped his APG to 20, and his shooting % has climbed to 42.8. FT's on the year are outstanding: 357-408 (87.5%)

TJ may have had an even more impressive performance in the Raptors overtime loss to Atlanta. Raptors may file a protest, because they really felt like TJ hit scored, what should have been the game=winner in regulation. At any rate, the good thing about OT is that TJ gets more minutes. Overall, TJ scored 23 pts (11-20; 1-1 FTs) and dished out a team high 13 assists. Calderon had 10 assists in only 21 minutes.

In other games, Royal Ivey helped the Bucks win one: he scored 10 pts (4-7; 2-3) contributed 2 assists and a blocked shot with no TO's--all in only 16 minutes. LaMarcus struggled offensively (11 pts on 4-15), but he did grab 12 boards. Though Daniel Gibson didn't do much for the Cavs, I did not realize he was back playing again and hope that he has healed up nicely.

I don't get to watch a lot of Raptors games, but by looking at box scores, I'm wondering if TJ's time is running out in Toronto. He's taking a lot of shots and his plus/minus has not been very good during the last few games. In last night's game, TJ was -10 when he was out there and Calderon was +3. In their win over Charlotte, TJ was +19 and Calderon was -18. In the loss to NO, TJ was -18 and Calderon was +14.In the win over the Knicks, TJ was -3 and Calderon was +9. In the win over Detroit, TJ was +1 and Calderon was +10 (that was the first game TJ started). In the 5 previous games when Calderon was starting, Calderon was +30 and TJ was -31.

You can't take a whole lot from box scores, but maybe TJ needs a change of scenery. Both of those players are starting caliber point guards, but I would think that they both will not succeed as much as they possibly could if they both stay there.

Bad teams or not, I don't remember being able to see so many longhorns in box scores for the NBA ever.

I think with the set of kids we have now at Texas, one of them is bound to goto a Texas NBA team.

Id love to see Augustine and Parker wreck in San Antonio.

Oh, and another thing. TJ's tip in last night was ********...

They obviously started the clock early and the ball was leaving his hand as soon as the light came on. I hope the Raptors win their appeal.

I thought that article was a pretty fair take on the situation in Toronto. TJ is still a great player, but its looking like Toronto is not gonna work out for him. They could afford the luxury of keeping both guys while Calderon was finishing out his current contract, but now that Calderon is gonna get paid, one of those guys has to go. If I'm running the show for the Raptors, keeping Calderon is a no-brainer. TJ is going to have accept that fact that his continued injury problems will be a major concern for whatever team he plays on. The guy has great skills, but who wants to pay a guy $8M a year to run the point, when you're not sure you'll get more than half the year out of him.

There are plenty of teams that need a PG of TJ's abilities, the trick will be in Toronto being able to work out an acceptable trade. In the meantime, it probably wouldn't hurt TJ to present himself as a little more of a team player in interviews. I don't believe the guy is a malcontent, but his frustration with current situation is causing him to act in ways that aren't helping matters. Wherever he ends up, I think the fresh start will do wonders for him.
