Looks like a defender broke Darnold's collarbone pounding him into the ground on a sack. Flacco is in. . . . . Darnold is back on the sidelines after heading for the locker room. I guess I was wrong about the broken collarbone. . . . Yep, now he's back in the game-- just in time to get sacked again. . . . . 10-10 with 6:21 left in the first half . . . still in the first half, Jets defense already has six penalties, four of which are personal fouls.

Jets answer Denver's 55 yard field with a 54 yard field goal on the next possession. Denver leads by 8 with about 12 minutes left in fourth quarter . . . Jets get pick six after Denver QB throws into triple coverage. 2 point try no good. Denver still leads by 2 . . . Denver QB throws another pick at midfield on next possession

I really dislike the roll-out 2 point conversion play. I know there are different schools of thought here, but I do not why you cut in half a highly shortened field. Seems to me that roll-outs work best where there is depth to work with and you can have multiple targets running at different depths in space.

Jets take one point lead with field goal with around six and a half minutes to go, . . . Jets commit fifth personal foul (face mask) while sacking Denver QB for big loss on third down. Stupid. . . . After Bronco receiver fails to stick his hands out to catch a well thrown bomb, Denver QB hits another long pass on sideline to keep drive alive. Pretty good game so far. Another drop by Denver receiver (Gordon). . . . Denver QB commits cardinal sin--grounding on third down well within field goal range. Now the FG try will be from 53 yards. . . . Good! Denver leads again by 2 with about 3 minutes left. . . . Denver sacks Darnold on fourth down in Jets territory at the two minute warning. Jets still have three timeouts. . . . Gordon is stopped at the line of scrimmage but pops out of the scrum and runs around the end for a 43 yard TD to put Denver up by 9. Denver wins the Dumpster Dive Bowl. Jets are 0-4.

Interesting study, esp regarding efficacy of running plays. Makes sense that boots are more effective because of misdirection. Thanks for posting.
