Dumbest debate question of all time, but I'll chime in anyways...

1) This is politics...duh.

2) Insider trading/cheating is illegal, and employees of both companies should not be allowed to play on either platform, nor pass along information to friends. I'm venturing that while insider activity has been given a lot of press, that in reality, a teeny tiny faction of these games are affected by insiders with any material advantage.

3) 2 nowithstanding, it is a game of skill and not gambling. How do I know? Because a very small cadre of very smart players like this guy http://www.wsj.com/articles/a-fantasy-sports-wizards-winning-formula-wsj-money-june-2014-1401893587 use their skills in econometric and statistical modeling to win the vast majority of money. It is not random luck that this guy dominates. These guys are the KD's at Gregory Gym on a Thursday afternoon.

There are maybe a few guys who have made a lot of money playing fantasy football. However, for the most part, it's the hobby of dateless losers and Bud Light-drinking, hot wings and taquitos- eating married dudes in the suburbs whose wives don't put out for them (for obvious reasons). It's borderline offensive and a colossal waste of brain cells to discuss it in a supposedly serious political debate.

I'm not sure I'd go that far but the issue certainly doesn't merit a national discussion or a question on the debate stage.

I played fantasy football one year, and I was a dateless loser at the time.
Ha. I doubt that.

I thought we needed a fun bipartisan current events thread to break up all the divisive crap that is politics in 2015.

That said, those that say daily fantasy sports are gambling/not a game of skill have no skills or a political hack looking for some PR.

I have played fantasy sports for years but can't imagine playing on one of these sites. There is definitely skill involved as any active fantasy league participant can attest.

Ha. I doubt that.

I was a sophomore in college, lived with my parents, and had no rap whatsoever. Furthermore, I went to UT Dallas, and in the mid '90s that was sorta like going to college at Home Depot. Trust me. I was a dateless loser. That's how I know about these fantasy football dudes. We can smell our own.
