Duke vs USC

Found the game a couple after it started. Both teams just looked totally out of sync on offense. Looking at the stats this morning, they actually shot the ball pretty well. It just didn't seem like during the game. I guess 25 and 29 TOs will make a game look like that. A lot of the TOs were simply unforced, silly ones.

This was the first time I have seen Duke or Southern Cal play. The defense was pretty good on both sides, helped by a lot of careless passing. The offenses seemed to be non structured. I was really surprised to see Abby looking to pass so much although she did make some beautiful passes. It was great to see her make those shots at the end that tied the game and send it into OT. That long range bomb to cut it to one was what I remembered her being all about.

Good to see Duke pull out a win. It may have been ugly but it still counts.

i've only seen Duke play Stanford and USC this season...but in both games their offense was seriously out of whack. it's hard to watch. in the USC game they only had 8 assists on 97 points.

i felt bad for USC. it's hard to watch teams completely fall apart at the end of a game. i thought they had it, but they went into the mode of trying not to lose the lead. dribbled way too much and missed big free throws. gotta give it to Duke's pressure defense at the end, though...and Waner's clutch shots.

Many Duke fans are NOT happy with the new coach and blame the "out of whack" offense on her offensive schemes (or lack thereof). I haven't watched them play enough to have an opinion - but only 8 assists on 97 points is seriously "out of whack"!
