On Rivals, I saw DT Quincy Russell's name listed as interested in Texas. Russell was a Texas recruit in the 2011 class who did not qualify and enrolled at Trinity Valley C.C. He was a 4* DT from San Antonio Sam Houston, #11 DT in nation, 125th overall, #16 in Texas.

Quincy Russell

Does anyone know much about his development at Trinity? Is he likely to get an offer or will he be a possible late fill-in if a slot remains?

He's looking to enroll in Spring of 2013. The coaches have been in contact with him and he's taking care of everything on his end and is expected to be here this time next year!!

I think that's good news. He would add instant depth at DT and allow soemone else in the class of '13 to redshirt if he can be here by spring.

I wonder if DT will continue to be a snakebitten position? We've sure endured a lot of shakeout over the years. Quincy may be a good one, but if the new recruits work out, DEs grow into DTs, etc, we may not have room for him unless he's really good and has his academics in order. Then again, we may be really needing a mature big body ready for the Big 12.

Aggy might try to snatch him away if he's "ready for the $EC".

Did the kid from El Paso (name?) ever get his **** straight and get on the field for someone? I always hated that the kid made one big, dumb mistake, and it cost him so much.

Saw Andre Jones listed briefly in a little aside to this article. The Link Said he got a second chance at UTEP, but wasn't successful.
