Driving Ranges in San Antonio

what part of town are you in?

I live out on 281 and there are two places that are pretty decent. One is on blanco just inside 1604 - can't remember the name. They are a little pricey, but you are usually hitting of good ground and it is lighted.

Rolling oaks is on 1604 closer to 35 (judson exit I think). It is lighted, has a bar, and bar type food. I like this place quite a bit because you have a beer or two while your there. The ground is usually pretty ****** becasue they run a ton of people through there.

They do have a putting green and two chipping greens (with sand). Sometimes when you go, you can listen to live music while you swing - which I like. They also have tons of used clubs to try out if you are in the market for something new.

I'm in the Alamo Heights area for the summer. I'm willing to pay the price for decent balls and good grass to hit off of.

There isn't much over there. The Quary sucks because the tee box is higher than where the ball lands. There is Brack but the ground and the balls suck. There is a place in the flood zone near 410 which blows donkey balls. I used to go to a place near the Palmer course but it closed. Don't go to any of the first three places I mentioned. You will get bad golf balls and poor grass to hit from.

There's a nice driving range on Jones Maltsberger between Starcrest and Thousand Oaks. Blossom Golf Center, I believe.

Go to the San Antonio First Tee Project in Brackenridge Park... At Mulberry.

Right Behind McCombs Plaza.

I second the Rolling Oaks range. Its right off of 1604 and Green Mountain Road. You can see if from the highway since it's right off the access road basically. Not the best driving range, but pretty cheap and a lot of fun. Cool place for music and food too.
