I just watched the video. I think you're subject title is a little misleading.

If you did not watch the video you might think that TSA is stopping CARS and subjecting people to pat down body screenings.

However what is happening is they are looking at Tractor Trailers, 18wheelers, etc. at Way Stations. I think that's fine. Truckers should be subjected to more scrutiny than cars on the road, because they are a whole lot bigger than me and my vehicle.

IF the TSA was doing random checks of passenger vehicles THEN I'd be pissed off. Not really sure why doing checks of 18wheelers makes you mad.

I'm not sure this is quite as bad as it reads but generally I agree with you being pissed off. I don't think the TSA is necessary or effective. Airports would be better off with private security at far less expense to the tax payer. Bloated, useless department much like the Department of Education.

I have always disliked slippery slope type arguments in regards to our laws/rights in America. We have this beautiful system of govt where laws and regulations can be repealed. Nothing is set in concrete. If the regulations get too severe, then the legidlasture can repeal them or the courts can decide they are unconstitutional.

I think we go overboard, in both directions, all the time with issues like this. One side over uses their power until they get beat back by the other side. Then that side goes too far. But our system is set up to keep things in check.

As for this, trucks and their cargo are already checked in many states. This is nothing new. of course commercial carriers dont enjoy the same rights as private passenger cars. You think when they are hauling fluids or pesticides or anything dangerous that they are not regularly checked? Of course they are.

so let me get this straight....you are fine with the government raising taxes and taking more from us yet you are angry as hell that they are checking trucks. if they lower my taxes to 10% or so, they can come by and search my house daily instead of the 40% they rape me for now.
